Visual Artist & Designer
Hayley Furman was born and raised in Gaithersburg Maryland just outside of DC. Due to being homeschooled she had far more time to dedicate to painting and sketching at a young age. Art became a big part of her life as she started to take private art classes. This started her ongoing love for communicating through artwork, whatever the medium may be. She experiments with different materials and mediums such as color pencil, digital software, embroidery, laser printing wooden jewelry, acrylic and oil painting, printmaking, with lots more in between.
Her background in illustration, graphic design and branding inform her mindful but competitive approach. Hayley is energized by her passion for understanding the nuances of sustainable design. She considers herself a ‘forever student,’ eager to both build on her academic foundations in psychology in hopes to go back to school one day for a master's degree in art therapy and with design innovation and software skill refining through continued coursework.
Hayley believes mindfulness is the key to motivation and inspiration, a tenet she lives out through her interests in yoga, meditation, biking, and painting. Her hunger for knowledge and determination to turn information into action has contributed to her most recent success Loons Planet a children's book that she both illustrated and wrote last year. This book intends to teach children valuable lessons on love, community, and respect, but will also cultivate conscious awareness for their deep relationship with the planet in an understanding, caring, and positive way.
